Gadolinium zirconate suspension is designed for the production of columnar thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) using Suspension Plasma Spray (SPS).

SPS offers an alternative route to Electron Beam Physical Vapour Deposition (EB-PVD), enabling columnar coating structures with low thermal conductivity and long service life.

High-temperature stability

Gadolinium zirconate SPS coatings provide high-temperature phase stability and low thermal conductivity for demanding thermal barrier applications when used with suitable base layers.

The suspension can be supplied with solid content up to 40 wt%, with very low viscosity, long storage stability and easy re-dispersion after storage.
